Fritz has lived and breathed bridal fashion for 15 years. His passion for fashion has been prevalent since he was five years old, when he would be found cutting up his mum's curtains to create outfits for his dolls and toys. With his love for design spilling into art, his flair for sketching has led him to become the artist behind our unique in-house artwork and sketches.
Sarah fell into the bridal industry 6 years ago when she moved to Auckland to pursue a career in fashion. She had learned how to sew when watching her grandmother from a young age, and went on to work for leading New Zealand bridal companies. With a fabulous demeanour, she is a natural when it comes to connecting with people to create wearable art that reflects them.
The duo met while working together in the bridal industry, and quickly developed a friendship that blossomed over a love of music, design and all things dresses.
Two peas in a pod, they both feel inspired by the same things. Their main muses range from Delta Goodrem, Jessie Ware, Celine Dion. And a good playlist always helps.
Despite being so similar, the pair also have qualities that make them complete opposites. Sarah is a minimalist, Fritz is all colour. When it comes to the finishing touches of a dress, Sarah always opts to remove three things, while Fritz will beg to add "just one more", five times. Fritz is a full creative, and Sarah is very systematic.
We balance each other.
A love of slow fashion and locally made products only grew stronger after working in companies that relied on off shore manufacturing, and planted a seed to start this business. They realised that authentic couture methods had been lost in an ocean of fast fashion and mass production.
We saw a need to bring back an art form that had been lost, and reintroduce old fashion methods to create modern designs.
